Bush Trail

The Trails Masterplan outlined three specific Trail projects,. The Bush Trail in the Morawa Town Reserve area is one of these projects. To deliver this project the Shire of Morawa has worked collaboratively in partnership with Sinosteel Midwest Corporation Limited and MEEDAC to deliver the Bush Trail. The Trail is now open for use. This Trail is a great opportunity for not only locals, but also for visitors to town, to stretch their legs and enjoy a short relaxing walk through our bushland. The Shire is keen to give this Trail a formal name and we would like the community of Morawa to help us do that.

To put your suggestion forward please outline your Trail Name suggestions and a brief explanation as to why you think it should be named that. Include your name and contact details so that we can contact you if required. You can submit your responses via email to admin@morawa.wa.gov.au or you can hand deliver written responses to the Shire of Morawa’s Administration Centre. All Name Nominations need to be received by 12 noon on Monday 9th of July 2018.

The Shire will then collate the Trail Name Nomination and present the list to the Elected Members at their 10th of July Briefing Session. Elected Members will then decide on a shortlist of Trail Names. Name Nominations will then be announced to the community and again the community will then have the opportunity to vote for their favourite name via a poll. The poll will be run online via Survey Monkey, however, people will also be able to complete a hard copy nomination form at the Shire of Morawa’s Administration Centre.

These final voting opportunities will be available until 12 noon Wednesday 18th of July 2018. Once all votes have been counted the winning name will then be presented to the Elected Members at their Ordinary Council Meeting on Thursday 19th of July for endorsement. An official opening of the Bush Trail will then be scheduled.
