MEDIA RELEASE – APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY CEO / ACTING CEO

At a Special Council meeting held 28 January 2021, Council resolved to temporarily appoint Mr Gavin Treasure as Deputy CEO and Acting CEO while Mr. Scott Wildgoose is on leave.

Mr. Treasure will be employed by the Shire of Morawa from Monday 22 February 2021 until Tuesday 4 May 2021. Mr. Scott Wildgoose has planned paternity leave for a six week period beginning in March 2021.

Mr Treasure recently ended his engagement as Chief Executive Officer at the Mid West Development Commission and was the CEO of the Shire of Morawa for 8 years, from 2004 to 2012. As such his knowledge of the Mid West region and the Morawa community makes Mr Treasure an ideal candidate to fill the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer.

Shire President, Cr Karen Chappel said “It is great to welcome back Mr Treasure and Council are confident the Shire operations will be in safe hands with him at the helm whilst Mr Wildgoose takes time to welcome his second child and support his wife, Rebecca, in those first few weeks.”
