PUBLIC NOTICE - SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
Notice is hereby given that a Special Council Meeting of the Shire of Morawa will be held on Thursday, 30 July 2020 commencing at 5.30pm.
Amendments to the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 were passed by Parliament on 25 March 2020 and came into force on 26 March 2020.
The amendments allow that local governments can hold Council and Committee meetings during a public health emergency by teleconference, or video conference or other electronic means. The Shire President has acknowledged that the COVID-19 Pandemic is a public health emergency.
The Special Council Meeting will be held via teleconference between staff and Councillors and will commence with public question time. Staff will be available at the Shire Administration Building, Winfield Street, Morawa for the Special Council meeting.
Questions must be provided to the Shire Administration (ceo@morawa.wa.gov.au) by 4pm on Wednesday 29 July 2020, so they can be raised and addressed during public question time.
The purpose of the meeting is to consider:
- Adoption of the 2020/21 Budget;
- Addressing requests from Morawa sporting clubs and associations for financial relief due to COVID-19; and
- Recruitment of a permanent Chief Executive Officer.
An Agenda for the Special Council Meeting will be published on the Shire Website (www.morawa.wa.gov.au) by close of business Tuesday 28 July 2020.
