New limits on the number of attendees at funerals.
Restrictions on the number of people that can attend a funeral have changed.
New provisions, introduced on Monday 18 May 2020, state that:
- Up to 20 people can attend a funeral held indoors; or
- Up to 30 people can attend a funeral held outdoors.
People who are needed to conduct the funeral, such as the funeral director and the funeral celebrant, are not included as part of these limits.
An exemption from these limits can be applied for by completing the application form available on the Department’s website and submitting it via email to funeral.exemption@dlgsc.wa.gov.au
