Planned Hazard Reduction Burning Notice 8-10 October 2026

Published on Monday, 5 October 2026 at 12:16:48 PM

These burns form an important part of the Shire's bushfire risk mitigation program, helping to reduce vegetation fuel loads and minimise the potential impact and intensity of future bushfires.
Smoke may be visible during and after burning operations.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to take the following precautions if smoke is affecting their area:
✅ Stay indoors where possible
✅ Keep doors and windows closed
✅ Turn off evaporative air conditioners while smoke is present
✅ Take extra care if you have asthma, respiratory conditions, or other health concerns that may be affected by smoke
✅ If driving in smoky conditions, turn on your headlights, reduce speed, and drive to the conditions
⚠️ Please note that burn dates and times may change due to weather conditions, fire danger ratings, or operational requirements.
We appreciate the community's understanding and cooperation while these important bushfire risk reduction works are undertaken.
