This year the Shire of Morawa is working with Chayce and PJ from the Morawa Burnout Group to host this year's Youth Week Project. This project is made possible by the generous funding through the Regional Arts of WA, Healthway, Drug Aware and GIVIT.
We will be getting two old cars and local youth will be painting them with the guidance of local Geraldton artist Shah Jackey. Shah was the artist that helped paint the Morawa skate park. The cars will be a colourful work of art and will be on public display during the April Holidays.
This project is open to young people aged 10 and up and will take place during Youth Week in the April holidays on the following dates:
Please only apply if you can attend all three days.
Note that participants will be filmed and photographed as part of this project.
Additionally, we are seeking 3 volunteers to assist with 1 or 2 sessions to prepare the cars to paint. This is a time commitment before the mural painting days. The three volunteers must live in town and we are seeking a Year 10, one a 11, and a Year 12 student with an interest in cars, street art, design, stencils or film.
These three volunteers will get to be part of the team, helping to prep the cars to paint, be the promo crew and get to work along side with Shah on the artwork that you design.
Please use the form below to register your interest in participating in this project.
