Morawa Early Childhood Education Centre Construction Commences
The Shire of Morawa is pleased to announce that construction has commenced on the Morawa Early Childhood Education and Care Centre.
This new facility will provide modern, high quality early childhood education and care, dedicated play spaces, community rooms suitable for allied health and family services, and a wellness room designed to support children and families across the district.
Statement from Shire President Cr Karen Chappel:
Shire President Cr Karen Chappel said the commencement of works reflects strong collaboration between all levels of government and the community.
“I want to personally acknowledge and thank the Australian Government, the State Government and Lotterywest for their generous financial support of this project. This much needed Centre would not be underway without this funding. Their recognition of the importance of early childhood services in regional communities like ours is deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten.
Each funding partner has played a vital role in enabling Morawa to deliver a facility that will support families for generations.”
Funding partners:
The Shire gratefully acknowledges the contributions that have made this project possible:
1. Australian Government & Western Australian Government–
Growing Regions Program (Round Two): $2,234,775
2.Cook Government Lotterywest: $512,150
3.WA Government – Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development (RED Grants Program): $200,000
Community partnership:
The Morawa Early Childhood Education and Care Centre represents a substantial investment in the future of the district. By providing accessible, high quality early childhood services, the centre will help attract and retain families, strengthen community connection, and support long term economic and social growth.
The Shire also recognises its valued partnership with REgional Eraly Education & Development Inc (REED), who will operate from the new centre and continue providing high quality early childhood education and care for local families.
